Any new situation can be daunting. So here’s what to expect from our first and ongoing sessions…

Research continues to show that the therapeutic relationship is the number one factor in whether we find counselling successful or not. Therefore finding the right therapist is, in my opinion, essential. So please take your time to find a counsellor who is right for you.
To help this process, I offer a free 30 minute consultation. During this time you can meet me, see the space in which we would work, ask any questions and make sure we are a good match.

Consultation

Going forwards we will work at your pace and together we will unpack whatever nudged you into accessing counselling.

Each session I will gently and compassionately support you with whatever you bring. Whether these are challenging feelings, uncomfortable past experiences or relationship dynamics, the content is always up to you.

I will listen empathetically with the intent of fully understanding you and your experience, treating what you say with respect and seriousness. Over time, this can lead to a shift in perspective, a feeling of gradually seeing yourself in new ways, getting in touch with your own values and gaining a sense of self-worth.

The number of sessions we have is dictated by you. We can work together for as long or as short as you feel is right. Whilst, I will not set the length of time we have to work together, I will invite you to review how the sessions are going, and whether your needs and expectations are being met.
